Allt-A-Bhainne

The Allt-A-Bhainne Distillery is a relatively new distillery (1975) which was built to supply malt for the Chivas Regal blends. There has never been an official release from Allt-A-Bhainne (means “burn of milk” in Gaelic), however there have been a couple of independent bottlings. Its also one of the most efficient distilleries in Scotland, where one man can run the entire distillation process.

The MO ÒR Allt-A-Bhainne was distilled in 1992 and the fact that it is quite a young distillery doesn’t necessarily result in the single malt whisky being widely available. That aspect alone makes the MO ÒR Allt-A-Bhainne a special drink by itself.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A fresh composition of citrus, green apple and pear.

Taste: Lots of liquorice with a hint of mint and vanilla.

Finish: More freshness which fades steadily, minty notes as well.
